Ever since the first look of Aravind Swamy was out as MGR, the fans and movie lovers have been in awe. The reason is the uncanny resemblance and spitting image of the actor with the legend. The makers of Thalaivi has made a great casting choice.

Check out the images. Thalaivi stars Kangana Ranaut in the title role. She essays the role of late Chief Minister J Jayalalitha. Besides Aravind Swamy, Prakash Raj, Bhagyashree, Poorna and Jisshu Sengupta play other critical parts. AL Vijay directs the biopic. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame is the writer.
The shooting of Thalaivi has been wrapped up recently. Thalaivi was initially slated to release in June 2020. However, due to pandemic, it has been postponed. The new date will be announced soon.
