The legend skips working with superstar

It’s now final that legendary film maker Mani Ratnam is not working with superstar Mahesh Babu or Nagarjuna for that matter in his next project. While there were reports that Mani was interested to cast both of them in his next film, but he has finally gone ahead with Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salman, who has grown up watching the former’s films.

One doesn’t know why Mani has dropped the idea to work with Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna. In fact, the project was supposed to feature Aishwarya Rai too. But Mani is yet to find his leading lady. He will start shooting from Oct 6 with Dulquer, and is expected to find a heroine shortly. Mani has also denied that he’s remaking one of his own classics. He added that the film is based on a fresh script he had been writing for over the last one year.

This project is special another reason and that is that it marks the reunion of Mani Ratnam and cinematographer P.C Sreeram after a decade. They both have worked last in ‘Alaipayuthey’.
