India’s First 50 Cr Opener Is Here!

Thugs Of Hindostan, the big Bollywood movie opened with enormous expectations of breaking Baahubali 2 records. It certainly won’t be anywhere near the lifetime records’ going by word of mouth, but, it has set one massive record.

The opening day has topped 50 Cr Nett in India making it the first movie in Indian films to hit that mark with a single language. Needless to say, it means it is the highest opening day ever for a Bollywood movie. It has beaten the previous best Baahubali 2 by a big margin, and if looked at only direct Hindi movies, the margin gets even more prominent. A 50 Cr opening day also gives it a shot at the opening weekend record, if it can hold further.

Unfortunately, Thugs of Hindostan starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan has got extremely poor word of mouth. The trade is waiting to see where it ends and if it will be a significant grosser or not.
