Firstly, we have Empuraan which released yesterday. Considering the sequel, hype, and also the huge star cast this film, got the biggest ever opening for any Malayalam film till date. It opened in the range of ₹22 crore in India and this is a big deal for Malayalam.

In terms of advance bookings, Mad Square has done pretty well as it reportedly sold over 100K tickets on BookMyShow itself. Considering the chemical attraction, this film might pull the younger generation of audience to the theatres today.
Then we have Robin Hood, which comes with lavish making values and a bigger cast in the form of Nithiin and Sree Leela. This film will rely entirely on the word of mouth.
As it appears it is Mad Square which will get the best opening start this weekend with sequel advantage and a comical trailer. But Robin Hood can also gain adequate momentum than these two films will have to share the audience over the weekend.
