Tollywood box office saw a dull August with much-anticipated films Coolie and War 2 failing to reach expectations. Rajinikanth’s film performed slightly better, but the NTR and Hrithik Roshan starrer turned out to be a flop. Both titles also lacked strong content.
September, however, looks more exciting as new releases promise to bring better energy to theatres. Two films in focus are Pawan Kalyan’s OG and Mirai. Both have created solid buzz and are being keenly awaited by Telugu cinema lovers.
OG, directed by Sujeeth, is a stylish action entertainer. It is one of the most anticipated films in Tollywood in recent years and is expected to mark a powerful comeback for Pawan Kalyan. The action-driven narrative has already raised audience expectations.
Mirai stars Teja Sajja in the lead role and is set for a theatrical release on September 12. The trailer generated strong interest with its slick technical work and unique concept. Teja, known for his consistent choices, seems ready with another big-scale entertainer.
The two films belong to contrasting genres but have equally excited audiences through promotions. If OG or Mirai, or ideally both, manage to deliver on their promise, then September will be a rewarding month for Telugu filmgoers.
