Tollywood had a pretty good 2024 with multiple pan Indian films clocking at the box office, namely Kalki, Pushpa 2, Devara and others. However, things are not looking as promising in 2025, and here is a look into the story.

Tollywood’s first attempt at Indian cinema this year was Game Changer. This film did not perform as expected in the pan Indian circuit, and also the domestic circuit.

The next attempt in this regard is going to be Kannappa. This film is a mythological action drama based on the life of Shiva Bhaktha Kannappa. It has pan India stars like Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal in the lead roles. It’s set for release on April 25 and it’s true pan Indian prospects will emerge as release date approaches.

Then we have Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom which is set for release on May 30 and it’s also being given a pan Indian release. This is a literal make it or break it film for Vijay. But the teaser looked promising and it has to be seen what its prospects are going to be.

We have Prabhas’s Raja Saab which doesn’t have a dedicated release plan but is releasing this year. Though this is promoted as a pan Indian film, the theme is very regional and there’s little prospect for pan Indian folk.

Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set for release this year and this is also promoted as a pan Indian film. But the actual prospect in this regard is still questionable, it has to be said.

NTR has War 2 but this can be classified as a straight Hindi film. So it can’t necessarily be added into Tollywood’s arsenal.

By the looks of it, Tollywood doesn’t necessarily have any hugely prospective and Indian films lined up for release this year. If any of these films manage to kick up the dust and gain momentum, it would come as a jackpot rather than a calculated wide reach project. As a result of Tollywood, not have a super bright year in the pan India circuit.
