Tollywood has had a slow 2025 so far, with few films impressing the audience. After the bright start of Sankranthiki Vastunnam, not many films managed to connect with Telugu viewers.
September, however, has brought a refreshing change. The month has already delivered hits in its first half, giving Tollywood some much-needed momentum and renewed energy at the box office.
The first success of September is Little Hearts. This light-hearted comedy entertained Telugu audiences and went on a surprisingly good run. It proved once again that content-driven films are welcomed regardless of star cast.
Mirai has also turned out to be a big winner. The Teja Sajja starrer opened with an impressive ₹27 crore and continues to perform strongly, showing that Telugu audiences are embracing it wholeheartedly.
Kishkindhapuri, too, has been noticed. It earned positive word of mouth and might have performed even better without its clash with Mirai. Still, its response adds to the month’s positivity.
With three films already making an impact, Tollywood is hopeful for the upcoming release OG on September 25. If director Sujeeth delivers a solid film, Pawan Kalyan’s star power and the existing hype could make it a massive success.
