US BO: Complete Silence Until August

The current USA market isn’t as lucrative as it was in the past. The Telugu crowd in the USA are stepping out to watch new theatrical releases in big numbers only if the reviews are super positive and the word of mouth is good. 2022 big ticket releases like Acharya, Radhe Shyam, Sarkaru Vaari Paata all failed to fetch profits to the USA buyers.

Coming to the point there aren’t too many promising films for the remainder of 2022 that seemingly suit the sensibilities of the USA audience.

Naga Chaitanya‘s Thank You and Adivi Sesh’s HIT 2 are the two upcoming releases that have scope to attract the USA crowds. While the former banks on Vikram Kumar – Chaitanya combo, the latter has Adivi Sesh factor, both of which are strong in the USA. But again, these films can also make it big only if the word of mouth is very encouraging right from the start.

There are other notable releases like The Warriorr, Karthikeya 2, Agent, and Liger, but they aren’t precisely suited for the Telugu crowds in the USA. Their USA theatrical returns will depend on the word of mouth and reviews.
