Top 3 opening or waste of stardom?

That Gopala Gopala has got third best opening of all time is a news known to all by now. It is a fantastic opening considering the subject that it is dealing with and the way it has been presented. And one would be really ignorant, at this point, to not see why it has got such an opening. The reason of course is Pawan Kalyan.

It is certainly a reason to rejoice but like a pessimist sees not the half glass full but the half glass empty, we too would like to present such a view. Top 3 opening for Gopala Gopala is without any doubt testament to the immense star power of Powerstar but years from now when people will move on and forget all that has happened today, it will just be a top 3 opening, nothing spectacular or special.

The last three films of Pawan Kalyan were biggest openers of its time. His last film was an Industry Hit and right now he is at the peak of his popularity. At a juncture like this a proper commercial entertainer would have shattered the opening by a mile that would be remembered for a long time to come. Instead of that, with all the craze he has, isn’t a top 3 opening disappointing?

Even now one doesn’t know when his next film will arrive or even what it is. Going by the own words of the star at the audio launch he has wasted almost a decade with no proper hit. People might be unaware but many, if not all of those films had record breaking openings. But do people remember it now? Isn’t that a complete waste of stardom?
