Fan following on social media has definitely become one of the most considered parameters for the popularity of a celebrity, especially cine stars. If you want to know how this popularity can be converted to lakhs of moolah, then Bollywood damsel Sonakshi Sinha is the best example to know what is ‘Paid Celebrity Tweets’.

This is becoming a new trend in the endorsement world and social media. It’s learnt that Sonakshi Sinha is paid Rs. 5 lakhs per tweet for endorsing an American Coffee brand Starbucks on Twitter. She also has other endorsements to which she is acting brand ambassador. But for Starbucks, Sona is endorsing through ‘Only Tweets’ deal.

It’s not only Sonakshi, even some big stars who have good number of big endorsements for which they feature in advertisements also are into ‘tweet only’ kind of paid celebrity deals to their credit. Even many star cricketers like Yuvraj Singh and star television hosts like Roadies Raghuram are part of such paid tweet deals.

This kind of trend has been in vogue in overseas which eventually spread to Indian market. Bollywood stars and famous sports personalities are paid according to their popularity on social media. This trend didn’t catch up with South Film celebrities yet. But one can easily see it coming down to South even.
