So Shaakuntalam, being released as a pan-Indian film, might not get enough screens in the North belts. Hence the team has decided to postpone the release.
The talk in the industry is that the team has made a senseless decision by postponing the film. Mahashivaratri falls on February 18 this year, and Shaakuntalam could have made the best use of that date by releasing on February 17.
The trade also says that it’s Strange on the part of the makers to think that Shaakuntalam would get record some huge numbers in the North.
