The festival advantage for Gunturkaaram is almost done. The buyers will hope it will get a last push this weekend and the R-Day weekend next. We will see what happens!
The makers say the film performed very well when compared to the massive negative talk that erupted on the Day-1. It is upto them to feel happy but then, it is a fact that these collections are no where near what is expected from the combination before the release.
It is the same as far as the content too.
Mahesh Babu had a smart escape from this blame as there is a visible effort from his side in the film. That leaves all the blame to Trivikram, the captain of the ship.
If anyone from the team claims that they did a good job with the film, they should also agree that they delivered better output than Athadu or Khaleja or Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo.
This is the second shock in Trivikram’s career after Agnyathavaasi. But the problem is far more serious this time.
After Agnyathavaasi, Trivikram managed to have a new release in the same year and that too a star hero like Tarak trusted Trivikram and gave a chance.
Allu Arjun – Trivikram’s project was announced. But there are reports that Bunny will do a film with Atlee before that. At this stage, it is too risky for Trivikram to stay idle for two years. In two years, even the calculations of Bunny may change.
At the same time, other big stars are also pre-occupied.
There are rumors that Trivikram may do a multistarer with Nani and Venkatesh. But that can be even riskier. Trivikram is a Tier-1 director. Attempting a film like that and that too after Gunturkaaram will look as a downgrade. So mounting the next project will be very tricky for Trivikram.
