Unexpected Direct Clash For RRR, Due To Under Estimation?

RRR, the next SS Rajamouli magnum opus is slated to release on January 8th, 2021. Given its star cast and the overall once in a lifetime combination, it is expected to have no opposition in Telugu.

However, when it comes to other languages, the same impact and effect seem to be missing. In Hindi, RRR is going to face a direct clash. It is unexpected of sorts because previously, it was thought that the movie would be postponed. However, a release date of January 8th, 2021 is once again officially announced.

The said Hindi movie is a biggie, Ek Villain 2. Names like John Abraham, Adithya Roy Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria are part of the musical action entertainer. Mohit Suri, who directed the blockbuster original, helms it as well.

The scenario for RRR would be similar to Saaho or Sye Raa. In the case of the former, there was a dual clash. It led to Saaho picking a new date. When it comes to Sye Raa, it went on for a head-on clash and was a washout in Hindi dub.

If Ek Villain 2 sticks to its date, irrespective of how it fares, it is bound to take half of the screens. Let’s see how things pan out in the coming months. Is RRR being underestimated or the makers of Ek Villain 2 are overestimating themselves?
