Uppena Beats Charan, Prabhas And Koratala Siva Next Target

The Uppena wave has taken everyone by surprise. It is creating wonders at the box office and is leaving behind some long-standing records created by top heroes like Charan and Prabhas in the process.

As expected, and predicted in our opening day records update, it took just the first three days for Uppena to emerge as the highest-grossing debut movie in Telugu cinema. It overtook Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s Chirutha’s numbers in the opening weekend itself.

Uppena has now collected, close to 25 Cr in the Telugu states. On the worldwide front, it is nearing 29 Cr. It is an extraordinary performance for a film featuring all newcomers.

Next on target for Uppena is Prabhas’s Mirchi. The Koratala Siva directorial is the highest-grossing movie in February. Also, Koratala Siva is the director with top grosser on debut. Both the records are going to tumble by the end of the second weekend. It could be even before, if Uppena holds well, on the weekdays.

Uppena’s director Buchi Babu Sana celebrates his birthday today. He couldn’t have timed it any better. It will be the best birthday for him, so far, no doubt.
