US BO: Jawan Misses Big Opportunity

Jawan is wreaking havoc as far as advance bookings are concerned. The film is all set to take a monstrous opening at the box office, and a 100-crore gross opening day just from India is expected if everything falls in place.

Talking about the pre-sales in the US, Jawan is doing phenomenally well and is sure to surpass the $1.5 Million mark first day gross in the US, beating the previous best Pathaan. The advance bookings have already crossed $500 K at the US box office.

The film is distributed by Yash Raj Films in the US, and as usual, they do not have any premieres for Jawan like most South Indian biggies have. This is a huge lost opportunity for the makers as far as revenue is concerned.

There is a tremendous craze to watch Jawan, and the distributors could have cashed in on the hype by having early premieres. Even just about a decent entertainer like Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani did more than $10 Million speaks volumes about Bollywood film’s potential at the US box office.

Jawan is a big-screen spectacle, and such films draw huge numbers for the premieres. It’s high time that biggies like Jawan start following the culture of Telugu films in particular and have early premieres, which will be a huge boost to the collections.

As of now, the first show of Jawan will start as early as 5 AM IST.
