Sandeep Vanga once again stirred controversy with his bold direction in ‘Animal’, a massive success in the Hindi belt and a true blockbuster.
He gave interviews on a couple of YouTube channels this week, making controversial and derogatory comments targeting three renowned critics.
Sandeep targeted Anupama Chopra, Rajeev Masand, and Sucharita Tyagi for labeling ‘Animal’ as a bad or the worst film. Sandeep Vange called them ‘illiterates’ who couldn’t grasp his film entirely, implying their criticism was based on just a few scenes.
His extreme stance and derogatory language clearly revealed the impact of their reviews on him. While films like Arjun Reddy or Animal are bound to receive mixed reviews, Sandeep’s reactions shows that reviews matter to him, despite his insistence that reviews and critics are unimportant.
He also generalized that only a few critics in Mumbai tend to favor films from specific filmmakers, granting them positive reviews. However, for other filmmakers, they provide scathing reviews.
He mentioned YouTube reviewers gained fame and wealth through his movie ‘Kabir Singh’. But can a single review make someone so rich or popular?
If he held such a grudge against certain critics, he could have simply ignored them. However, by directly naming them and using such language, it’s evident how much their reviews affected him.
