SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi is very much on track. Indicating the principal shooting part is nearing completion, Rajamouli recently confirmed that the film has only around 80 days of shooting left, and it is expected to be wrapped up by September or October 2026.
With production progressing as planned and post-production preparations already underway, Varanasi continues to build excitement as one of the biggest Indian films ever mounted. Adding to the excitement, Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravani confirmed that the background score work will begin in September and is expected to take around five months. The update comes as good news for fans eagerly waiting for the film.
The extended scoring schedule reflects the film’s grand scale and the importance of music in delivering Rajamouli’s signature cinematic experience. Fans can now look forward to more exciting updates as the film moves closer to the next stage of its journey toward the big screen. The makers have already announced April 7, 2027, as the film’s release date.
