Beast Banned in Overseas Territory!

The government of Kuwait has banned the release of the Thalapathy Vijay – starrer mall hijack drama Beast in Kuwait, while some other Arab countries like UAE have granted permission to screen the film.

The film deals with a situation where a shopping mall in Chennai is hijacked by terrorists who hold the visitors as hostages. Hero Vijay, a spy, who also is trapped in the mall, decides to save the hostages by eliminating the terrorists. The film depicts Islamic terrorism, which is not encouraged by Arabic countries. Any film that shows Arab countries as a home for villains and terrorists usually gets banned in Kuwait.

Previously Dulquer Salmaan’s movie Kurup also got banned because the Kuwait government probably did not like filmmakers showing a wanted criminal taking shelter in their country.

This definitely comes as a huge blow to Beast and Thalapathy fans in Kuwait who were waiting with bated breath to watch this action entertainer. Also, this ban will make a dent in overseas collections.
