After delivering, super successful films like Pelli Choopulu and Arjun Reddy at the start of his career, Vijay Devarakonda was destined to be the next big thing in the Telugu film industry. This was cemented by Geetha Govindam. But what followed later wasn’t to the expected pedigree.
In the recent past, none of the attempts from Vijay could witness the kind of early expectations and aspirations that were set on him. He was prompted to be the next gen superstar but the kind of films and choices didn’t back up this narrative.
However, now that Vijay is celebrating his 37th birthday, what appears to be coming up from him in the near future is looking all the more promising.
Vijay has films Rowdy Janardhan, and Ranabaali coming up shortly later this year. Both the films are currently under production and our projected to release towards the second half of the year.
Then there is this collaboration with Hi Nanna director Shouryuv. Apart from that, he has a few other projects that are in different stages of discussion.
Whatever happened in the past has happened, and there is no rewriting this record. So whatever Vijay does with his career starting from now, which he himself might label as a tale of redemption is going to be the key.
The audience have clearly instated their watching patterns as they are backing creative Content over anything these days. So the responsibility is on the likes of Vijay, who have so much riding on them to deliver big.
This isn’t going to be a rat race about who is coming up first in this segment of heroes, but instead a mark of individuality. Quality films, and consistent efforts can always paint a good picture and this must be what he must be aiming for.
