It is not uncommon for producers and distributors to have some sort of bad blood with heroes. When they face losses, they expect heroes to do their bit in settling losses, and when that doesn’t happen to an extent they were expecting, then there is a chance for a fallout.
The same thing appears to have happened between producer Abhishek Nama and Vijay Deverakonda. The producer recently shared a tweet, asking Vijay to settle the Rs 8 crores losses he suffered for distributing World Famous Lover.
Now, Vijay’s father, Govardhan Rao has reacted to the statement made by Abhishek and here’s what he had to say.
“This producer, Abhishek Nama has been troubling our family for a long time now. He wants to produce a film with Vijay and we didn’t accept. Ever since, he has been blackmailing us.” Vijay’s father said.
“Why should we settle the losses? It is between the producer and distributor. Vijay returned 50% of his remuneration for the film and even rejected the flat that was offered by the producer. What else can he do? How can it be a hero’s fault if a distributor loses money on a film? If he has a case, then he should go to court, rather than publicly defaming us.”
The nature of this fallout has turned public now, several years after the release of World Famous Lover. But again, this is a part and parcel of the film industry.
