We appreciated him for choosing a simple but important subject like Maharaja while it is a usual practice with stars to go after event films and Mass Masala Entertainers for their landmark movies.

However, Vijay Sethupathi modestly asked not to compare him with other actors as everyone is trying to deliver good subjects in their own way.

When asked about how he understands such complex screenplays in the script stage.

“It is all about good directors. Good directors narrate their scripts well how complex they might be. We should all remember producers spend Crores of money just seeing a script on the paper,” Vijay Sethupathi said.

When asked if certain scenes disturb him even after going home, he said, “It does not happen usually because we shoot a certain scene for days and our concentration is fully on the outcome of the scene. At the end of the day, we always remember it is a character. But sometimes we do get affected. I experienced it for certain scenes in Maharaja too. But it is just for a few seconds.

He also commented that he feels sad when a film is appreciated on OTT but not so in theaters. “But at the end of the day, we should be happy that the producer makes money and the people appreciate films on OTT and write well about them on social media,” he added.

He also clarified what happened between him and the Pushpa 2 team.

“What happened between the team and me is between us. I need not tell that to everyone. I watched Pushpa two times,” he said.

He also rejected the statement that Tamil audience do not watch other language films.

“This year, we have Avesham, Premalu, Manjumal Boys, and Brahmayugam making big money in Tamil. It is all about good scripts,” he said.
