Maharshi had the best date until very recently the buzz of the postponement picked up. April 5th was and is still the perfect time to arrive with Ugadi and a public Holiday in its opening week. Dil Raju is known to pick such perfect dates and make the right use with it as we saw recently with F2. Wonder, what has made him go for another date!
Since it isn’t coming on April 5th, then April 19th is the next best date. Friday is a holiday and would be a big boost to the openings. There are other releases scheduled for the same time which could be adjusted when a biggie arrives.
If not April 19th, then any week in May should be excellent as basically it is open ground and there will be no other big movie around. Even the elections could be over by the first week.
The current date is April 25th, and the only reason it has been picked seems to be for sentimental reasons. The last week of April has been lucky for Superstar Mahesh Babu, whereas May has been disastrous. But, an April 25th release means Maharshi has to face mighty Avengers: Endgame. It won’t be a problem in the Telugu states, but outside (rest of India and the US) that would be an issue for sure for getting the screens.
We have to see if a sensible decision is taken in the end or the makers just continue with their sentimental reasons. Vamshi Paidipally directs Maharshi which is the landmark 25th film of Superstar Mahesh Babu. Pooja Hegde is the heroine, and Allari Naresh will be seen playing an interesting supporting role part.
