WhatsApp monitors Irrigation projects in AP

Irrigation department of Andhra Pradesh is putting the social networking App, Whatsapp to the best use to get the work of various projects work done on time, monitor quality and in the process created an atmosphere of competitive peer pressure among the staff.

The Top officials are instructing their staff to send periodical pics of the project status via WhatsApp. They will continuously evaluate the projects progress. The system was launched a month ago and is said to have instilled positive competition among field staff.

Officials say this new system had already resulted in cost reduction too as everyone is trying to stick to deadlines and post their achievements. On the other side, Hyderabad Water Works Board is also planning to use WhatsApp to check irregularities in the ongoing works in its jurisdiction.
