Pawan Kalyan and Rana starrer, Bheemla Nayak is the first Telugu biggie to hit the silver screens post the Covid 3rd wave. Making the most of the same, the film opened on a super strong note at the domestic and also overseas.
In an encouraging development, Bheemla Nayak minted $1.8 million in 2 days and the film is set to breach the breakeven mark – $2 million today itself. Meaning, it will recover the entire investment of the US distributor in the opening weekend itself. But who really deserves the credit for Bheemla Nayak’s success in the USA?
First thing first, Bheemla Nayak is the Telugu remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum. But that isn’t stopping the film from putting on excellent numbers at the box office. This is a surprisingly good performance by a remake film while the original version is streaming on OTT and especially so as the Telugu population in US got accustomed to OTT viewing since Covid onset.
While Pawan Kalyan will obviously be the USP of the film, the first teaser, which showcased Pawan in aggressive avatar built good hype. Needless to say, the Trivikram factor came in to play and it complemented the fact that Bheemla Nayak is the first film featuring a top star to release in the recent past.
Also, Rana’s brilliant performance in the film received a thumping response. Pawan Kalyan pairing with a capable young actor like Rana and this track receiving a great response helped the film after the release. While the Rana factor wasn’t all that uplifted prior to the release, it did help the film following the release.
So, a handful of things went Bheemla Nayak’s way for it to hit the bulls eye in the US market. Now, the question is – Can the film build on the positive momentum and mint profits to the buyers.
