Akhil’s Agent has been one of the most-awaited movies in Tollywood right from the day it was announced. After an impressive teaser, the hype increased further and the film became hot in the trade and also among audiences.
But as days went by the hype completely died down. The two songs that were released didn’t make much of an impact. The film is still in the shooting stage even after shooting for more than two years.
After many delays, the film is now scheduled to release on April 28th. But there are talks going on in the industry that the film might get postponed again. Akhil also looks more interested in playing cricket matches than in Agent.
All these factors have contributed to reducing the buzz around the film. It is quite surprising that a film that had genuine hype has become a film with no buzz at all, on the ground level or on social media.
Producer Anil Sunkara has to land now and take the charge. He needs to overhaul the complete marketing strategy of the film and boost the interest of the audience for Agent. The film is made on a very high budget and it can’t afford such a low buzz.
Unless Agent gets excellent openings coupled with extraordinary word-of-mouth, the film will find the going tough at the box office.
