Interest in a project generally starts to wane once the movie fails to release on a scheduled date! Similar could be the case with the movie Karthikeya. Starring Nikhil and Swathi in the lead roles, Karthikeya attracted a lot of attention as the pair of Nikhil and Swathi was coming fresh off a blockbuster Swami Ra Ra. Initially slotted for a release on August 1, 2014, along with Run Raja Run, Maaya and Adavi Kaachina Vennela, Karthikeya backed off the race three days prior to release.
September saw a slew of big releases in the form of Rabhasa, Power and Aagadu making it next to impossible for a small film to make its presence felt. Industry sources say that the makers of Karthikeya are now planning to release the movie on October 10.
However, the same sources say that financial issues are behind the delay of Karthikeya and it would be quite a challenge for the movie to hit the theaters on October 10 also. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Karthikeya is produced by Venkat Srinivas and has music by Shekhar Chandra.
