It’s not easy being Rashmika Mandanna. Despite being the heartthrob of millions, she often finds herself at the receiving end of unfair trolling.
Even her fellow Kannadigas, who should take pride in her success, sometimes pull her down. If she doesn’t speak in Kannada at an event, she’s trolled for supposedly forgetting her roots. On the other hand, if she does speak in Kannada, critics claim it’s merely a publicity stunt to promote her movies and win the sympathy of the Kannada audience.
There’s a constant demand for Rashmika to act in Kannada movies to appease the trolls. However, the question remains: Are Kannada filmmakers willing to match the remuneration she receives in Telugu or Hindi films?
Coming to “Animal,” it is one of the biggest projects of Rashmika’s career. She is paired opposite a star hero like Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
If the film turns out to be a success, ideally Rashmika should also get due credit. She is always honest in her performance and puts her heart out during promotions. But all the credit would be shared by Ranbir and Vanga, leaving Rashmika with nothing but a successful film in her resume.
Conversely, if “Animal” fails to meet expectations, trolls are poised to seize the opportunity to label her as unlucky or attach some other negative tag. Unfairly, she’s already been targeted for her performance in the songs of “Animal.”
Fingers crossed that Rashmika delivers a memorable performance in “Animal,” and the film proves to be a resounding success for her sake.
