The pre-release event of Lucky Bhaskar was held at Hyderabad last night and it had Vijay Deverakonda and Trivikram as the guests of honour,

There was one very interesting occurrence at the event last night as Trivikram made an unexpected yet relevant reference to Vijay during his speech.

The maverick director mentioned that Vijay Deverakonda received so much love and warmth but also twice as much negativity in such a short period of time in his career. He complimented Vijay by saying he was a strong man who endured a lot while also crediting the youngster as one of his favorite actors.

Usually, elite-league directors, particularly the ones who are as reputed as Trivikram articulate their speeches only around the positives of a hero. But at last night’s event, Trivikram made a very interesting reference to Vijay.

A mainstream director addressing the negativity factor faced by a hero doesn’t happen very often and this perhaps speaks a lot about the scheme of things.

While it is true that films like Family Star don’t quite match Vijay’s potential, it could perhaps be noted that there is a vehement selective hate campaign against him. To the degree that an absolute insider like Trivikram who has so much on his plate already had to mention it in a public forum.

The hard fact is that every hero faces trolls on social media, but the thing with Vijay appears to be such that certain elements are aimed at tarnishing his prospects. Else, an elite filmmaker like Trivikram might not be addressing something as such.

Like for instance, there was this edited clip with “Preethi” voice for Vijay’s Arjun scene in Kalki. Trolls were spread on his diction and stuff. This eventually fizzled out and the performance by accepted at large, but the early hate campaign was evident.

The solution for Vijay henceforth is obviously to make good cinema that is expected from him. Once this box is ticked, things will get a whole lot better.
