The much-awaited Shah Rukh and Deepika starrer upcoming movie ‘Chennai Express’ was all set to hit the theatres on 8th August. However recent reports say that the release date has been postponed to 9th August which happens to be the day of the festival Eid. The change in the release date was due to the change in the date for the festival.
Now the question is whether Shahrukh Khan will be able to break Salman Khan’s 100 crore Eid record. Eid has been Salman’s lucky day for quite a while now and most of his movies, like ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, were released on the day of the festival. Last year, the Salman and Katrina starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ made a 100 crore record at the box office and with Shahrukh’s ‘Chennai Express’ waiting in line for its Eid special release, it is expected that it will break Salman’s record this festive season.
