With the humongous success of Baahubali the market dynamics of Telugu cinema for a biggie has changed forever. At least that is the impression one gets among the filmmakers to get the massive grosser that might not be possible to get from Telugu market alone.

Films even prior to Baahubali have been tried to be released as bilinguals but only few actually managed to succeed like an Arundhati or Magadheera. There were few films such films tried from Superstar Mahesh Babu as well like Dookudu, Businessman and 1 Nenokkadine too. But the problem with them was that the makers didn’t put the same efforts to market the film in other language as they did with original version.
Doing so was okay back then as the single language collections itself were huge to create records and keep the flag of the star flying high and fans feeling proud of it. But now Baahubali has smashed and expanded the market in such a way that the records won’t be possible to overcome with single language. The movie has to get something from other dubbed versions as well.
Keeping this in mind films of Superstar Mahesh Babu are already being promoted as bilinguals. But the real questions is will the makers have a proper follow through for them and not be like how they were with his previous films? We will know the seriousness pretty soon as August 7 is not very far away. Do you think a regular commercial film Srimanthudu from a Top star like Mahesh Babu can create an impact in its dubbed version?
