Will T-state formation affect film business?

The separation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh has plenty of lucrative political reasons, but from the business perspective of cinema business in the state is likely to go for a toss. No one is certain whether Telugu films going forward will release in Andhra as well as Telangana as the latter has decided to make and promote its own films.

The producer-distributor link is likely to be affected the most. Those distributors in Telangana region now have to think twice before even picking up a film for distribution. All these years films made out of Telangana could not get a decent release in other parts of the state, but since it is divided now, there are likely to be more problems.

However, producers such as D. Suresh Babu and Thammareddy Bharadwaja have assured that there will be no effect on the film business in the state. They also added that they will ensure that steps are taken for trouble-free distribution of Telugu films in Telangana as well.
