It has been more than six months since KGF Chapter 2 was released, and there hasn’t been an announcement from Yash about his next movie. Reports say that he is offered many projects by filmmakers from all industries, but Yash is taking time because he wants to pick a story that does justice to the legacy of KGF 2
Now there are reports that Yash has been offered two mega-budget films, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra 2 and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s mythological extravaganza Karna.
Both the projects look good on paper but eventually what the films will turn out to be can be risky.
A similar scenario was witnessed when Prabhas became the biggest pan-India star after Baahubali. And then he signed Saaho and Radhe Shyam which were produced by Bollywood banners. He expected that these films will take his stardom to the next level. But the films neither impressed the local audience nor the nationwide audience and turned out to be disasters and his market came down considerably.
Yash also must be careful while signing his next project. He should understand that making films that speak the tone of your land, and your sensibilities, and then pitching it on a huge scale is the new mantra of success.
The pan-India audience craves that uniqueness that Bollywood doesn’t offer. No point in starring in another Bollywoodized project which the audience is rejecting left, right, and center these days.
Yash should realize that Local is The New Global which sadly Prabhas couldn’t!
