In Telugu, we had Raghava Lawrence’ ‘Style’ and in Bollywood, there is this whole ABCD (Anybody Can Dance) franchise where filmmakers made dance-based films exploiting the dancing skills of actors who are terrific dancers.
Now, we hear that Mannara Chopra of Sunil’s ‘Jakkanna’ fame has been offered the lead role in a dance-based drama by choreographer Amma Rajasekhar. We don’t know the dancing skills of this girl who came from Mumbai, but we certainly have our own dancing sensation, Sai Pallavi.
Sai Pallavi‘s Rowdy Baby’ song has been nearing 694 million now and still counting and this is happening sheerly because of the South girl’s terrific dancing skills. We wonder why no filmmaker thought about making a dance-based film with her.
It would have created an instant buzz if Sai Pallavi is cast in a full-fledged dancer role like Prabhu Deva and Remo have been doing male-oriented dance films in Bollywood. None of them tried a female-oriented dance movie.
Wouldn’t it be a great idea to have Sai Pallavi in a dance-based drama? What do you think, folks?
