Sikandar to WAR 2: Worst 10 Bollywood Films in 2025

Theatrical experiences can turn out to be the worst if nothing happens as per your expectations. Last year was a prime example of how things can go terribly wrong, even in situations where a film creates hype with its promotional material. It was a lesson for makers to understand the need for freshness in terms of content and let go of the routine processes they were following through star power and franchise popularity.

Let’s check the list of those ten titles that disappointed the general public.

1) Sikandar

Salman Khan’s eagerness for a comeback made him possibly commit a mistake where he might not have heard the script in detail from A.R. Murugadoss. Despite a lot of buzz, the content eventually did not connect. People wanted to see Bhaijaan returning to the zone of Wanted and Kick, and they believed that Murugadoss could do the same. But the final product was the complete opposite, with no proper confrontation between good and bad.

2) The Bhootnii

With horror-comedy slowly getting recognition, every producer is attempting to do it. However, this one proved that things do not work if you have a big star playing a supporting role. Sanjay Dutt’s casting did not work at all, and the same can be said for the film. Everything was silly, including the comedy, which was found to be irritating instead of making people laugh. There was no wider release, and this eventually impacted the box office numbers.

3) Kesari Veer

Promotions are necessary for any film. Things can take a worse turn if a new producer turns up out of nowhere and brings something on screen with popular faces. The directors attempted to repeat the formula of Chhaava, which was evident from the glimpses. They took a story based on real-life events. No one could ignore the bad VFX. Moreover, viewers’ attraction towards Raid 2 also took the attention away from a film that arrived without any awareness.

4) Son of Sardaar 2

King of sequels, Ajay Devgn, tried to recreate the success of the first one. Unfortunately, the actor forgot that people changed their choices over the last few years. The trailer was not hinting at entertainment. AD’s move from a song is the only thing that generated some hype. However, people did not turn up at the theatre. The film itself was missing the fun elements that everyone expects from such comedies.

5) Zora

Rajiv Rai’s films and their songs became iconic. They were known for being multistarrers. After a very long gap, the cult director attempted to grab everyone’s attention. But it seems like his long break from the film industry made him miss the current trends and the kind of cinema preferred by everyone. The glimpses were familiar to old and low-budget films. The theatres were also not interested in giving any shows.

6) War 2

People were waiting to witness the grand-scale vision of Yash Raj Films in terms of action. After a long wait of six years, the new entry (War 2) in the Spy Universe was finally out. Once the shows ended, everyone questioned where the makers invested so much money. The visuals were irritating, and the larger-than-life feeling was not there at all. The biggest fault was choosing someone who had never directed such films in the past.

7) Baaghi 4

With makers falling short of ideas, everyone has now decided to invest in films. Talking about this one, the action was taken to an extremely violent level. But the Baaghi 4 script did not work. The twist in the tale was very silly, and before that, everything shown before and after the hero beating up the bad guys looked illogical and funny. One particular moment was even taken from Animal, except that it had more blood. All of these contributed to its failure.

8) The Bengal Files

Vivek Agnihotri attempted to create another history after doing it with the story of the Kashmiri Pandits three years ago. However, everyone around the country could not connect with the plot and one of the lead characters, who suffered so much until the end. The worst thing was the abrupt end, and people were made to question their choice of sitting for more than three hours. The director’s increased investment also made things more difficult in terms of recovery.

9) Uff Yeh Siyappa

This one is included in the list of titles released without awareness. Silent films are not so common today. Even if someone decides to do it, the script needs to have the best moments that people can recall when they reach home. This one was missing all of that. Everything was visible in the trailer. Casting popular faces also did not help much, as audiences were not interested at all. It had a disastrous run with the worst box office numbers.

10) Mastii 4

A successful franchise created by Indra Kumar many years ago was destroyed by the bad execution of Milap Milan Zaveri. It is not wrong to cross the border when you make an adult comedy. But it is necessary to think about how audiences would react to certain situations. The first two films made people laugh out loud, which is the main reason they worked. This one was described as a torture that won’t even be watched by the single-screen audiences.

2025 taught a lot of things to the film industry. Considering the lineup of releases scheduled for this year, the situation is looking different. However, the biggest question is whether anything would change this time, or the ongoing year will add more flops and disasters to its list.
