Yatra Building Momentum On Its Own

If one would have asked about Yatra one week or more ago, many might have easily dismissed its presence, let alone it surviving at the box office. Add to that, the movie it banked on for promotion also got postponed. However, things have changed in the past week.

The critical thing with Yatra here is the content. While it is propaganda in nature, and there is no denying it, the making gives a quality vibe. The songs have found appreciation, however, limited it might be and above all, the presence of Mammootty in the central role of YS Rajasekhara adds weight.

With the right promotion and combination of factors mentioned above, Yatra has built momentum and that too without relying on any competition. It is what it is and looks like there might be decent initial also if word of mouth starts on a positive note. Mahi V Raghav of Aanando Brahma fame directs Yatra. It is slated to release worldwide on February 8th.
