Gone are the days of Facebook addiction, its now the time of Whatsapp addiction. Venus Verma, a 20-year-old youth jumped in front of a moving train on Sunday night after his father, Inderjit scolded him for spending too much time on WhatsApp.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday. Inderjit found both his sons – Venus and Abhi are busy on Whatsapp and his father asked them not to waste time on social media. Both of them went out of the house and did not return till the next morning.
Venus’ body was found on the tracks near Jalandhar City railway station on Monday morning. On the other side, Abhi claims to have gone to a shop where he worked. Abhi says he did not meet Venus in the night and is also not aware about his brother’s suicide.
