RRR is, by far, ZEE5’s biggest cornerstone film and the OTT platform is trying its best to make the most of the same by publicizing the film’s OTT premieres.
RRR has two of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema, Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles and that should certainly bring a wide reach to the film as it arrives on ZEE5. Also, there is the Rajamouli factor which would greatly boost the prospects.
Interestingly enough, ZEE5 has withdrawn its move to charge additional Rs 100 with the annual subscription charges to stream RRR. The film can be streamed for free if you have a ZEE5 subscription. This might well help in giving the film a wider reach.
All in all, May 20 is going to be a big day for ZEE5 as their flagship outing RRR is set to premiere on the platform. Can the Rajamouli film pull the OTT audience in big numbers?
