1000 Rupees Note to Make a Comeback

After all those talks of phasing out Cash from the system, the government is planning to bring back the 1000 Rupees Note. After the Demonetization, the government withdrew the 1000 Rupee Note and introduced a new 2000 Note. Reports are emerging that RBI already started the printing of 1000 Notes in a new design.

RBI had planned to launch the new note in January but it was delayed as the central bank was pre-occupied with pressing need to supply Rs 500 notes. Buzz is that the notes have to be introduced in January itself but the launch was delayed as the central bank was pre-occupied with pressing need to supply Rs 500 notes.

Samples of 1000 Rupee Notes are being circulated in the social media but then it is not confirmed if the design is original. On the other side, there are rumours about the government withdrawing all the 2000 Notes that come to the bank and replace them with smaller denomination notes.
