It is known that the Jubilee Hills by election will happen anytime soon. Late Maganti Gopinath was from BRS when he passed away and the seat fell vacant.
Now, the ruling Congress party is eyeing the seat. Due to a change in demographics in recent times, the ruling party has narrowed down on three candidates who are locals.
One is TG PCC working president Mohd Azharuddin, another is Naveen Yadav and the third candidate in race is Rahmat Nagar corporator CS Reddy. Already Hyderabad in-charge and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has made it clear that the candidate will be picked from locals.
However, while MIM will extend its support to the Congress, they are against Mohd Azharuddin.
But the interesting bit is that the party will conduct 3 surveys and will decide on the final candidate based on the results. One survey will be conducted by CM Revanth Reddy, another by TPCC and the third one by AICC.
Though it is not the sitting seat for ruling Congress, the political analysts feel the result in the constituency will be a testimony to Revanth Reddy government. Hence, the party has allocated three ministers for 6 divisions in Jubilee Hills.
Hyderabad incharge Ponnam Prabhakar, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao and Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy have been made in-charges. They will be supported by 7 members who also include corporation chairmen. They will find out the problems of people at the ground level and resolve them till the election happens.
So, it is going to be a tough fight between Telangana Congress and BRS.
