Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has announced 33 kilos of gold as gifts to Miss World pageant contestants. It means each contestant will get 30 tolas of gold.
All 109 contestants will be given gold gifts as instructed by Revanth Reddy. The Telangana Congress leaders are backing their chief saying that the gold is being given as the contestants have come as guests to Telangana. They are like our own Telangana women, they say.

Meanwhile, there is a lot of frustration among netizens as the Congress government never fulfilled its promise of giving 1 tola gold to women who got married under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme. Though Revanth’s government has been in power for the past 16 months, the scheme hasn’t been implemented.
The Telangana Congress too is stubborn on its stand. Revanth Reddy government has arranged various activities and programmes as part of the pageant. The contestants are also getting to see the rich heritage, culture and beauty of the Telangana state. Indeed a ‘golden’ opportunity for the beauties!
