Tirupathi, Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada, Amaravathi, Guntur and Ongole gave representations to GoM for forming a capital state. An expert committee will be established and after a survey for 6 months, a decision over which city should be named as the capital, will be taken based on their reports says MP, Jairam Ramesh. The new capital will be funded by the government, he added.
Although people of Seemandhra are expecting the formation of new capital in the next two-three months, Jairam Ramesh says that this is not a small issue and it will at least take six months to make a final decision. Ministers from these six regions of Seemandhra are already claiming that their city will definitely become the capital. But what will the government decide?
