A Long Journey of Andhra Airport to Turn Ultramodern

Like a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, Vijayawada airport has now transformed into one of the sophisticated airfields of the country.The Gannavaram airport which was naive in the beginning has undergone the metamorphosis for about 77 years and turned into a high-five terminal.

There are times that the airport has not been used in the past too due to poor traffic of passengers. It took quite a long time for the airport to be developed into what it is now. Over the past years, the rush of travelers has increased, and with the inauguration of the new terminal, the air traveling is expected to see a rise.

And it doesn’t end here, the new terminal will be extended further, to accommodate 50 Lakh passengers per year. The aviation department has been instructed by the CM to finish the extension in two years. In future, the airport will be able to run a Boeing 747 aircraft as said by the officials.
