Aam Admi Party’s Popularity declines

Aam Admi Party’s brief honeymoon on Delhi Throne seems to prove costly for the party. According to a survey conducted by a National News Channel, the party’s popularity took a heavy beating post the Delhi episode. The survey conducted in states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra indicated that their vote share dropped to 3.9 per cent in the last two months from 4.9 per cent in the last January. In Delhi, its vote share has come down to 35 per cent from 48 per cent in January.

Arvind Kejriwal is a distant third choice for PM after Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, only in Delhi is he second. Even in Delhi, 8 per cent lost faith that the AAP Chief is a good choice for PM compared to 34 per cent in January. Only 4 per cent on the six states want Kejriwal to be the next Prime Minister. Aam Admi Party now faces an uphill task to protect the people’s trust till the upcoming general elections to make any impact.
