AARAA Masthan is back. He gave an interview to a YouTube Channel supporting his Survey Findings in 2024 and making comments as if the EVMs were tampered with.
In a way, Masthan is talking the same language as YSR Congress.
He directly targeted Nara Lokesh’s Mangalagiri.
“If we take the historical data of Mangalagiri since the inception of TDP, there are four important events – TDP Inception, Vangaveeti Ranga, YSR Padayatra, and Bifurcation. There is a change in the percentage of votes due to these trendsetting events, but there is no abnormality in voting percentages. But we could see the abnormality in this election,” Masthan said.
“In Mangalagiri, Ten Assembly elections have happened since 1983. The Majority in nine elections is always between 12 to 10,600 Votes. But in this election, the majority increased abnormally to 91,000+. That increase did not happen in those four trendsetting events,” he said.
“Why did this abnormal increase come? There are no trendsetting incidents in these elections. Despite trendsetting incidents, Mangalagiri majority change is always plus or minus five percentage points. So there are doubts,” he alleged.
“The difference between votes is usually 5%. If that is 8%, people will see candidates angrily. The candidates can not walk on roads if there is an eight percent vote difference. The difference in this election is 15%. The people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are more vocal. But that situation is not seen in 2024,” Masthan says in his defence.
This argument is bullshit.
Historical Trends do exist in Politics, but they are useful only to some extent.
Several TDP Strongholds were destroyed in the 2004 and 2019 elections without any logic.
When there is a wave election, there is no logic at all.
The 2019 elections do not fit in the Trendsetting incidents of Masthan, but how could Jagan decimate TDP to just 23 seats?
Trendsetting events need not be loud and visible.
Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest is a big trend-setting event for the 2024 elections. Like never before, AP saw the spurt of Vendetta Politics mixed with freebies.
The anger in the people was not seen because of fear. They feared Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“If Chandrababu is arrested, we are nothing,” they thought. They feared the Freebies would stop if they were vocal about the anti-incumbency. Hence, they delivered a verdict which no pollster could predict.
Coming to Mangalagiri, Lokesh was in the constituency the very next day after the elections. He has eyes and ears on the ground and has worked hard there.
We have seen him do development and welfare work there, spending his own money.
And there is severe anti-incumbency on YSR Congress in the constituency, and there is dissent due to the three capitals. YSR Congress is in severe doldrums until the last minute.
We have seen the sitting MLA, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, moving to Sharmila’s Party and coming back in the last minute.
Jagan fielded a political novice, Murugudu Lavanya, hoping that caste equations would work out. But everything failed.
People who defeated Lokesh, believing the ‘Pappu Propaganda’ in 2019, saw him emerge as a leader. People believed that he was the next state leader and wanted him for their constituency.
If a State leader represents a constituency, the constituency will automatically develop.
Like how Pulivendula people vote for Jagan and Kuppam people vote for Chandrababu, Mangalagiri people voted for Lokesh.
The trend will continue, and Mangalagiri will become a TDP bastion. Then, the likes of Masthan will understand.
Masthan became deaf and blind like YSR Congress on this issue, which is definitely not good for his career.
