Sasikala to Make Candles & Incense Sticks in Jail

Chinnamma Sasikala has landed in Bengaluru’s Parapanna Agrahara Jail this evening. Ahead of that, Sasikala had requested the jail authorities for Special facilities during her stay there. She has asked for AC Room, Food from home, Television with Tamil Channels, Mineral Water but officials rejected her wish list. She will share barrack with 2 other women and has to do hard labour. Sasikala would be given a job to make candles & incense sticks. Three sarees would be given to wear. Her daily wage is Rs 50 and Sunday is not a holiday for her too in Jail.

Previously, Sasikala had spent about three weeks in this jail along with Jayalalithaa when a Special Court convicted her in the disproportionate assets case. So, it is a familiar place for Sasikala. She will have to spend four years there until she gets bail or acquitted in the case.

If her conviction stays, Sasikala will not only have to spend four years and will also be not allowed to contest any elections for six years after that. That would effectively mean that Sasikala’s Political Career is more or less finished.
