Icon Star Allu Arjun’s recent visit to Nandyal stirred controversy among political circles. Yesterday, he went to Nandyal to support YCP’s local MLA candidate Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy.
However, permission wasn’t taken from the Returning Officer (RO) concerning Arjun’s visit. A huge crowd was gathered at Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy’s residence during Arjun’s visit. He was welcomed to the city with a huge bike and car rally.
Even though there was no official permission for Allu Arjun’s visit, the local police have made security arrangements during his tour.
A few leaders complained to the Election Commission officials stating that the police officers didn’t take permission to provide security for Allu Arjun.
The EC immediately took action and filed charges against Nandyal SP Raghuveer Reddy and a couple of other police officers. It stated that the police failed to handle the situation and allowed a huge crowd gathering when Section 144 was implemented.
It issued orders to the DGP to conduct an inquiry on SDPO Ravindranath Reddy and CI Raja Reddy. The DGP was asked to submit a report regarding the action taken against three officers by 7 pm today.
