Development Process to Kick-Start in Amaravati

The development process in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati is beginning. Sakhamuru is the first of the capital villages to taste the development as the state government is developing the area as Knowledge City. The government had already started land allotment for several premiere educational institutions in the village.

The institutions will begin their construction work once the ground clearance is given and land division is done once the process of reconstituted/returnable plots was completed. Amity University and VIT University are going to come up with campuses in this village. Amity University will invest Rs 425 crores in its campuses in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam.

The University is planning to take in nearly 11,000 students in the next 10 years. The VIT will invest Rs 3400 crores in the campus it is planning in Amaravati. The University is looking at a prospective student intake of 32,000 in the next 10 years. The state government is offering land to these institutions at subsidized rates.
