Ponguru Narayana took charge as the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development. He assumed responsibility at the Secretariat in Velagapudi.
Narayana held the same portfolios between 2014-19 and also supervised the works of Amaravati. He was given the same portfolios to ensure continuity.

Speaking on the occasion of assuming charge, Narayana said, “Soon we will start the reconstruction work of the capital. We will study and decide the time-bound in 15 days. We will build the capital according to the old master plan”.
He also added, “The first phase of capital works will cost Rs. 48,000 crores. In three phases, it will cost one Lakh Crores. Action will be taken against road vandalism and theft in the capital. We will form a committee and investigate this”.

Meanwhile, the Jungle Clearance works across Amaravati are going on at a brisk pace.
The buildings that were nearly completion in 2019 were ignored and left during Jagan’s rule. The officials are studying the structural strength of such buildings and they will be prioritized for early completion.
