Amaravati Second Phase Pooling: Jagan Loses A Big Opportunity

Chandrababu Naidu Government recently gave a notification to the second phase of land pooling in Amaravati.

In the first phase, 34,000 acres were mobilized from farmers and in the second phase, work will be done on another 16,000 acres.

In total, 50,000 acres will be mobilized from farmers for the entire Amaravati.

In the first phase, 16,000 acres of government land were handed over to CRDA. The capital will be built on a total of 70,000 acres of land, including all government land and land taken from farmers.

Ahead of this second phase land-pooling, there are several doubts in the farmers.

Firstly, why another 16,000 acres when the development is not completed in the first phase?

The trunk infrastructure is not completed in the existing pooled land and so, this second phase adds to the burden of the Government.

Also, if more land becomes available with the farmers, it is natural that the prices go down across the board.

So, these are the doubts of the farmers who are landlords. And there are farmers who have their livelihood based on the lands in Amaravati like the tenant farmers and the daily wage laborers. They have different set of problems.

However, the farmers have no option but to trust the Government in the matter of Amaravati.

They have seen what Jagan did with Amaravati during his tenure and so, he can not be trusted at all.

Even if he goes to Amaravati today and say he will fight for the farmers there, he will not be trusted.

There are only two political forces in Andhra Pradesh right now. TDP and its allies and YSR Congress on the other side. The remaining political parties like Congress and the Communists are inconsequential.

So, TDP is the only party that can do justice to Amaravati. Between 2014 and 2019, Pawan Kalyan positioned himself as the champion of Amaravati farmers but then, he is also on TDP’s side right now.

Jagan channeled his hate on Chandrababu Naidu to Amaravati. He is unable to come out of it. He does not even give an impression that there are people in the region and he should represent them as well.

Hence, Amaravati farmers have no option but to trust Chandrababu Naidu.
