Amaravati Like Danger For Revanth’s Future City

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has proposed the idea of having a fourth city named ‘Future City’ in the state capital region.

Coming up at Mucherla in Rangareddy district, about 50 km from the main city of Hyderabad towards its southern side, the “Future City” is proposed to be developed as an ultramodern region keeping in view the future needs of the Generation Next.

The Chief Minister announced that this city will be a hub for Artificial Intelligence, medical tourism, sports, software and pharma.

The Government is coming up with Land-Pooling Model to acquire lands for this city.

The project will come up in 30,000 acres and the Government already has 13,973 acres here. The Government plans to acquire 16,350 acres via land-pooling.

The farmers and land owners will get developed plots in lieu of their lands similar to how the farmers in Amaravati got.

Land-pooling is not just the only similarity with Amaravati. The extent of the project and the necessity of 16,350 acres are very similar to the size of Amaravati.

The question here is will it meet the same fate as Amaravati after the Government changed?

We all know Revanth Reddy stalled KCR‘s Pharma City plan. In Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy stalled the plans of Amaravati completely for five years.

Luckily for the farmers of Amaravati, the Government changed in recent elections and Chandrababu Naidu Government could reverse the plan.

Amaravati has the sentiment of the State Capital. So, there was Public and Legal Resistance that came in the way of Jagan Mohan Reddy. But then if BRS comes to Power in the next election, there will be no legal implications that can stop them from stalling the Future City.

So the Future City will remind of Amaravati and it’s fate between 2019 and 2024 for the farmers who will be losing their lands for the Future City.

There is a way out for Revanth Reddy to secure his dream. He has to complete the land-pooling and begin works in the remaining four years. The Brand Image of Hyderabad will bring investments to the Future City.

Luckily for Revanth Reddy, his treasury is much stronger than Chandrababu‘s which hampered the plans of Amaravati between 2014 and 2019.
